How can I put games (if you can) into my TI-83 Plus?

Need help fixing an original Nintendo NES system...the games won't stay down when I put them in.?

• When I put the games into the system and push them down they won't stay. It's almost like they aren't catching something that makes them stay down (spring/latch???). If you hold them down or put something in there to hold them down then they play just fine, but it's annoying. I don't know if this is a simple 72-pin connector problem like everyone wants to point to in these systems, but it do not have any problems playing the games. Is the 72-pin connector's job to hold down the games properly? Any advice is appreciated!!!

  Hello! I had the same problem. What this is, is the contraption used to hold the game down is being pushed down upon by the top half of the case or outer shell of the system, causing the part the tray is trying to "catch" to be pushed away. Two things to try: 1: Loosen slightly the three screws on the bottom of the case that are closest to the front. Test it and see if that solves it. 2: Open the case and loosen the two screws on the front of the the black, plastic tray. When putting the outer shell back together, do not tighten the three screws in the front too tight. Test it and see if it works. Keep in mind it will take a bit more force than normal to keep the games down, but this should work. If not, you can try sanding the front of the contraption down to fit properly, or...there's a guy on ebay who sells just those parts for about $4 + shipping. If you do some looking around, you should find it. I hope that helps! David
