    All DSi's come loaded with 1000 free points as a bonus, to get more you have to buy them. They sell cards preloaded with 2000 points in almost any gaming store and electronic store like Bestbuy or Gamestop. The card MIGHT say Wii points, but they are compatible with the DSi. They might also be called Nintendo points...

Go to any store that sells Nintendo points, like Walmart, Gamestop, etc.. Then you can go to the DSi store add the code that is on the back of the card that you bought and you get the points. (I'm not sure about the pricing on Nintendo Points.)
