Is a video game cut-scene copyright?
-
Ok so I uploaded a video of top 10 Metal Gear lines, the problem it does contain snippets of cut-scenes and it says "Matched Third Party Content", so is it safe or not? I don't want a strike.

Answer:
The whole game is copyright protected. However since it's just little snippets you could argue for fair use: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use Many gamers upload videos of their gameplay onto youtube without any action being taken against them. Most game companies won't mind people uploading their videos. In fact some even upload videos of their entire playthrough (called a "Let's Play"). However any licensed music in the video (even if it's part of the game) may cause the video to be removed or the sound disabled.
