Is there ever going to be a Nintendo system after the Wii?

Is the Nintendo Wii going to have online play for the classic system games?

Like, the downloadable NES, SNES, N64, and Sega Genisis games

There's no official word on that particular aspect of the virtual console. I personally don't think it will happen, but you never know . But even if you can't play online with those games, the newer games will be A LOT better. I hope that online gaming will be avaliable for games like Super Smash Brothers Brawl, any Mario Party or Mario Kart Wii Rocks!

No. Mainly because those games did not originally come with online play so they won't include them with online play.

The Wii is completely capable of carrying not only updated games for those systems, but also online play. Can it presently?? That hasn't been announced, but the system can certainly do it if Nintendo decides to make it so. I would like to see an updated online Secret of Mana myself.
