Question about WII,guitar hero and rockband?

i have a wii,we also have guitar hero,but for xmas i have got the rockband set(drum,mic+guitar).i have to go+get the game software,but im getting mixed information on whether or not Guitar hero guitar is compatiable with rockband set.The guitar hero set is unavailable,but id take back rockband and wait if its not as good.hope someone can shed some light on this for me..thanx..
