Does Sims 3 Pets require Sims 3 to play?

  • In Sims 2 pets it required the original Sims 2 to download and play the game. I am thinking on getting the Sims 3 pets, and my friend got it as well. But she isn't the brightest (8 year old) and doesn't know anything but how to play the game. I am wondering if I can just buy the Sims 3 Pets and not buy the Sims 3. Oh, and for the computer. Thanks!

    Like everyone else said, you need the base game. But they have a combo pack you can buy. It is both the sims 3 and the sims 3 pets. It saves you a bit of money.

Yes, you do need to have Sims 3 to be able to play Sims 3 Pets. It's just like Sims 2 and the original Sims have been. You always need to buy the plain Sims game to play all the expansions.

It's the same as sims 2 - any expansion pack for the sims 3 requires the base game. The expansions aren't games by themselves, they're just add-ons and you'll need to buy Sims 3 first :)
