Don't quit your day job. It's really hard to support yourself doing crafts. I suggest you try getting yourself into some craft shows. See how it goes.

As you well know, lots and lots of people make beaded jewelry because it gives great results with a minimum of skill and effort, and many of these folks want to sell it. First, you have to be sure your jewelry is something special, and not just because you made it. That only works for your mom, you know. To sell your jewelry in public, it should be made of high-quality materials. Do you use sterling silver wire for any wire parts? Does your jewelry look professional and hand-crafted at the same time? That's a fine line there. It's hard to hit just right. If you want to make serious money, you'll have to put serious work into your craft and into selling it. There's a man who's made a company helping people to sell their jewelry online. He sells supplies to make it and courses and kits to teach it, too, but has a good site for patterns and such. There are also selling tips, since he sells at craft shows and such. I don't know the address of his website (I click on a link in an email to get there, so I don't know the address) but you can find it on Google easily enough if you type "Preston Reuther" into the search box. As far as I know, it's a reputable site. There are places where you can send questions to him and he'll answer.

take pics of your jewelry, make a book (magazine), and take them to specialty shops in your area, and post the pics all over town... Have some friends wear the jewelry to parties, work, everywhere, someone will ask about it eventually... Good luck, this is what I am doing too....

I recommend www.etsy.com - it's an online marketplace crafters and artists sell their goods. You can then post your online store info on MySpace, Facebook, etc. and print business cards with your Etsy web address and contact info. www.vistaprint.com is a great site for business cards, and they'll print them for free as long as you agree to have their logo on the back (I think it's worth it). You only pay S&H. Good luck!
