Does anyone know where to get free fabric samples/swatches?

The fabric stores in the Chicago area aren't too keen on giving samples/swatches and if they do they are itty bitty ones. Does anyone know of any websites or anything that offer free fabric samples? I'm a seriously broke fashion design student :(
