Large macaroni shells, painted if desired, strung on yarn. Three - five yr olds should love that. Five - seven yr olds could probably handle smaller stuff. I use pony beads with my kids at school. The fun thing about that is that you can have them create patterns. This gives them a little direction. You can color macaroni or other noodles, but a little warning noodle necklaces usually end up with a few crushed noodles. Fruit loop necklaces are fun too. You can also do patterns as well as eat the cereal. Use embroidery floss and teach then how to braid. You can add beads into the braid as they go. Just a few ideas for you.
