How To Make Money At Craft Fairs?

How can a 12 year old that likes to make crafts make money?

  • I love to make crafts. I make them when I can get to the craft store, but we don't have a craft store near my town.I live in Titusville Fl and the nearest good craft store is in Orlando Fl. I was thinking about making decorative soaps but the stuff I need is only in craft stores. I cant make a lemonade stand, sell news papers, babysit, I don't get a allowance, and I don't have anyone near me to mow their lawn. Most people in this town don't have lots of money. But they will buy stuff if they like it. We do have a staples and Walmart and target here. So what can I do to make 40 dollars or more to put in a bank account?

I love how you're doing what you love to make money! Keep this idea in mind when you hit college age. (With your parents permission of course) Go to your local Wal-mart and see what they have to offer. Ask if they are willing to order things in, also check online to see what you can have shipped to you. Do a little detective work around town and see what people like to buy, incorporate that with your on natural gifts, a little inspiration and hard work hopefully; You'll find your self in Business. Try this site as a little food for thought. (http://www.jcarolinecreative.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc)

Become a mother's helper. Find families with small children and offer to be a babysitter in training. When my kids were little, we hired a 12 year old to be a mother's helper. By the time she was 14/15, she knew the kids really well and we trusted her for babysitting. You can make a lot more money babysitting than you can selling melt and pour soaps. then you can take some of your earnings to make soaps as a hobby. There are too many soapmakers in Florida so it's not a good thing to get into. i supply soapmakers with fragrance and can tell you that your state has a lot of them. To make money, consider the mother's helper route.

ask your mom to help you creat an account on etsy.com eh?

First go to a local craft store with you parents and ask them if you can sell your crafts there. (they would probally ask for some of the profits). There is a story of a girl on the news that sold magnetic bottle caps With decorations on them. She made a really good profit by doing the same thing I told you. I hope this helps.

Wal-Mart may have craft supplies; although they were phasing out. Beading: make simple ear-rings or bracelets for teen-agers. Foamies: make scrap-book style greeting cards for birthdays. Monk-cloth: make swedish weaving place-mats & knapkins. You can sell stuff at Flea-Markets, with parents permission.

go to a flea market, a pawn shop, local craft store, or a yard sale.

Maybe give 3d origami a try? It's really fun, that's my hobby. You can go to youtube.com and type in the search box 3d origami. Pick any of them and all tutorials should keep you busy for a while. These take up a lot of time and patience, but if you get the hang of it, it becomes fun and rewarding. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEqx1wwdW... If you don't want to keep them, you can sell it for a lot of money, but you need to learn how to make the basic triangle piece for 3d origami and they have that on youtube too. Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFPTOAdEe... I hope you give that a try. Go for it! If you need help on it, you can always let me know and I'll try to help.
