How to regulate sleep cycle?

Various interests (not necessarily tensions, just reading, writing or surfing internet) keep me awake till late night (say 1 a.m or even 2 a.m.) resulting in reduced night hours of sleeping. I wish to make it 6 to 8 hours sleep cycle starting well before midnight. Any advice please.

Don't sleep in on the weekends, it actually messes up sleep patterns more. - Don't drink caffeinated drinks after 5 pm. - Exercise regularly, even low to moderate exercise helps create more natural melatonin in your body. Well if you drink a glass of Milk one hour before your bed time, that you wish to rest. That will help you relax. Its like a baby, give them a bottle of milk and they will fall to sleep. Not calling you a Baby, but it works. You might have to try it a few nights to get it going, but worth a try.

Hi Mangal B, My I advise you to do it the natural way? I use to be in the same situation. Today I no longer need 8-12 hours of sleep. I have enough with 3-5 hours even with a very active life. I have plenty of energy. This doesn’t mean that it will be also your case (have enough with 3-5 hours), but I know by experience that all who drink it sleep better and have more energy, so they do more in a day than before. First make sure you are drinking enough water, 2 liter a day is recommended. Second, start drinking aloe vera drink, the ‘Berry Nectar’ drink is the best drink recommended because this will help your system to clean itself more efficient. Then you need also the discipline to set a time to go to bed. It’s like training your body when it is time to go to bed and sleep to do it. You need to set specific times. Set an alarm clock to when you want to wake up. If you cant fall asleep, then try to make yourself tired by excercising or anything that could make you tired, or try relaxing so you can sleep better.
I have this too. There isn't really anything that 100% works. I've tried Unisom and it doesn't work. Try not to watch TV or listen to music right before bed. Spend some time winding down for about 30 minutes. During the day stay busy- exercise mentally and physically. If you need to take a meletonin. Attempt to wake up and go to bed at the same time every day( it sucks, but works)
