Interesting work experience for prospective vets?

Is THIS good for me to give to the work experience person at the vets????:)?

  • Dear (her name) My name is ' and I’m ' years old. I am a hard working, kind and determined individual looking to gain work experience at the (name of vet surgery) I have always been interested and passionate about animals and love caring for them, and love making them as happy as can be. I have owned a cat for 17 years and 4 pet rats. I love helping animals whenever I can. I also have plans of opening my own pet care business in the future., where I will offer a range of services including pet sitting, dog grooming and dog walking. It would be greatly appreciated if I were given the chance to put these into practice. This work experience is important to me because I have always been fascinated by animals and get allot of satisfaction from caring for them and I love making them as happy as they can be. I would like to experience caring for all types of animals and have a greater knowledge of them some day. I would not mind working any administration duties you have because I would love to own a pet business so I would enjoy the experience of learning about each part of the surgery. I have been diagnosed with High Functioning Autism, which is a social / learning Disorder. However this in no way affects my abilities or my learning ability. Please contact me about the possible Work Experience placement you could offer me. I hope to follow up with you in a few days to arrange a personal interview. Yours sincerely, my name)

  • Answer:

People will almost certainly question how a learning disorder can not affect your learning ability. It is a contradiction. If your learning ability is totally normal then you have no learning disorder

I think that sounds good but why mention the autism part? I think it is irrelevant to the purpose of the letter, but that's just me.

Sounds OK .......... If your autism doesn`t interfere with your abilities , I wouldn`t mention it .

Haha yay it's the letter i edited for you :o)) As i said before, mention the autism. don't keep secrets because it's not going to affect the way you work but they may be able to understand any issues you MIGHT maybe possibly have during your time there =] Plus when applying for any other jobs etc in the future where you will have to mention autism you will be able to bring up your experience at the vets and say I have a great reference there and they knew i was autistic etc.... :)itll work in your favour.
