Answer:
Wear professional clothing, like you would wear to an office job. Say "Hello, my name is _________ and I'd like to leave my resume for the person who does the hiring here. Thank you for passing it on to that person. Bye."

Don't wear jeans. Dress the way that would be expected for that job, but a little bit on the formal and conservative side. Don't wear a sleeveless or low cut top, a short skirt, or any kind of hat. A little bit of makeup will look pulled together. Go early in the day to ask about job openings. When you go late in the afternoon, people assume you've been sleeping in, even if you've really been job hunting all day. Always ask to speak to the manager. If the manager isn't in, ask when he or she will be in and return at that time. Never just leave your resume with any random employee unless they specifically offer to take it to show the manager. When you speak to the manager, try not to seem too nervous. Be cheerful (you might want to do a bit of acting and imagine that a job in fast food or whatever you're applying for is your ultimate dream for life that fills you with bliss, and smile accordingly) ask if they have any job openings in "customer service" (or whatever type of job you think they might hire you for, it helps to be specific) and briefly mention any related experience that you have. Then hand them your resume. Even if there are no job openings, you can ask if they would like to keep it on file in case something comes up. Good luck!

NO JEANS, nothing low cut. Wear something with a collar and sleeves. Think prep for a job interview. Then dress as your boss dresses once you have the job. Wear light makeup - soft blush, mascara, light eye shadow. No dangly jewelry. Wear your hair neatly and off your face (bangs are ok -- just not a ton of hair in your face. Hello, my name is _____. I would very much like to work here. May I leave my resume to be considered. I know you're busy, so may I call back in a day or two? Whom should I call? What is his/her phone number? What is a good time to call? Thank you for your time, and I look forward to talking to you/_____ (if another person) in the next couple of days. Thanks! See you later! And SMILE!!! Practice this in a mirror. Don't worry if you don't use the exact words; just smile and think logically. One good trick that worked for me was to think before going in, "yeah, I'd like to work here, but it's no big deal if this isn't a good fit for me. The right job is out there, and I will find it." Another thing that worked was to say "I don't care if I get this job; I'm just going to go in to practice and have fun." I got every job offer when one was available when I did this. When I thought "I really want this job", I was really nervous and didn't get any of those jobs. When you go in for the interview, thank them for the interview and answer their questions honestly and politely. If you don't know the answer, tell them so -- and tell them you'll do some research and get back to them. Just remember that each person who interviews you was in your position looking for a job not that long ago. Good luck!

At 16 you shouldn't have a Resume which is a collection of courses studied and jobs accomplished but you should dress as if you were going to work that very minute, so don't wear anything too dressy such as high heels or too much make-up. You could get references from your Counselor at school and your Minister attesting to your strong morality, and even one from your Math instructor saying that your math abilities exceed the average so you can give your employer some reason to hire you. Be sincere about wanting or needing to work and give reasons, like you need to save for college, or that you want better clothes than your parents can afford. Just be truthful.

Business casual: no jeans, no short skirts... Wear khakis/knee length skirt/cotton slacks, a simple shirt and simple shoes. Say: "I am dropping off a copy of my resume, could you make sure the manager gets this? Thank you." Or you might want to ask for the manager directly and tell them you're looking for a job and would like them to have a copy of your resume. Wear minimal makeup.
