When should I arrive at a Concert?

I'm going to the Mike Posner concert in April with a friend. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert is at 8 p.m. The concert is general admission and from what I've heard about the place, you cannot see anything if your not in like the front row or on a good spot in the balcony. My friend and I want to stand in the front row right in front of the stage. What time do you think we should arrive at? We were thinking 11 a.m. but would that be too early. I haven't been to any general admission concerts so I've never been through this before. The building where the concert is being held holds about 1,200 people but apparently they'll squeeze 100-200 more people in sometimes. The tickets cost only $16.90 if that helps. Also the place gets hot so what should I wear? I know I will be close to people so I was thinking longer shorts with a t-shirt with kind of flowy sleeves so I don't get pit stains. Do you think that will be good? Thank you in advance!
