How to write a letter (e-mail) of introduction for submitting a resume and cover letter?
-
I am submitting a resume and cover letter via e-mail. It's an unsolicited resume, so I'm just sending it in hopes of getting a job opportunity. I've written a very nice cover letter for my resume, so now I'm just trying to think of a way to introduce myself in the body of the e-mail without having to repeat what I've said in the cover letter. This is the body of my letter: ---- Dear Caffe Ladro, Perhaps your company is seeking to recruit the talent and creativity of someone who can deliver fantastic guest service with a smile and specialty coffee with pizzazz. If this is the case, then please accept the accompanying resume for your review and consideration for a part-time position of barista in which those strengths and diverse experiences will be of value. Collectively, my work experiences at Walt Disney World, Tully’s Coffee, and Patty’s Eggnest Restaurant have allowed me to cultivate many useful skills, such as multi-tasking, team-building, time-management, and communication. In addition, I believe that I can benefit your company greatly with my attention to detail, friendly yet professional attitude, and fast cashiering skills. Moreover, I want to expand on the espresso-making skills that I have learned and take them to the next level. I would appreciate the opportunity of a personal interview in order to show my talents. I firmly believe that I can contribute to the success and operation of your Caffe Ladro. Consider this an opportunity to hire a friendly and hard-working individual who is willing to undergo any necessary training in order to put her talents to great use. Please contact me at your earliest convenience. I look forward to hearing from you so that we can schedule a meeting. Thank you! ---- Any ideas? Thank you!

Answer:
First of all, I suggest writing the letter and resume by way of an attachment to your e-mail. It comes across much more professional and if printed looks like a proper letter (as opposed to a printed e-mail which imo looks like a piece of toilet paper). Second the first paragraph needs a bit of polishing. Good ideas but the semantics could use a bit of massaging. Good luck : )
