Hinduism...What is the esoteric meaning of Shiva opening his third eye and burning down Kamadeva?

Today is Muharram - is a Shia Muslim event, where Shias get together to beat themselves up in the name of religion. A member here 'says rajan' is preaching Hindus and Jains that torturing oneself physically in the name of religion is bad. Agreed. But isn't today the occasion that he should be preaching this to the ones who do that violently and are doing it right now? What hypocrisy!

This is really related to some vedic verses which requires more place to discuss. Burning kaam is a subject to make it bodyless (Anang). In the body the kaam works through its eesu (arrow).The word 'eesu' in Sanskrit gives meaning the desire . ee+su ee means kaamdeva and su means to produce =this word also gives soot (son).The son/daughter of this kaam.This is Ichdha or desire.Which works only in body (Saanga) All the five senses like(ex amply) when our eyes attached to a vision and want forcibly to see ,it means desire or the kaam arrow works through eyes .Likely you can understand for every sense organs. A yogi like Shiva why did it burn ? Because it ( kaam) gives very disturbance to his peace of mind.So Shiva burns it through his third eye which after meditation (dhyan).Now kaam becomes body less In veda (Athur vada) a verse gives some indication (Kaamo vidhytu tva hridi) in this one word 'UT TUD' now works.It means after burning that kaam that bodyless (anang) also works but now UT TUD (upper level) Now the bodyless arrow go to upper level in meditation to ward higher consciousness..But it requires more labour.(tud=todan) in other way we can say one must be on the way of Sadhana,the hard laborious. . Extrovert becomes introvert.and reaches to get Super mind .
