Yes! Try it and you will see the difference. My friend did, and within four days she said she felt completely better about herself. A lot of people have replied saying that meat has negative effects on your health, and this is 100% true. When you stop eating meat, your body literally will want to thank you for treating it so well! Remember your body is a temple..so you want fill it with goodness. If you choose a vegetarian lifestyle (at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day) plus lots of PROTEIN (your substitute for meat example: soy-tofu & beans), then you're on the road to spiritual growth! This is because you're mental state has a direct effect on your physical well-being. They are reflections of eachother...when your body is healthy, you feel good and when you are sick, you feel awful. Living positively and feeling good are spiritual vocabularies best words! I'm a religious studies major and the Hindu Tradition does believe eating animals is morally wrong. It's stated in the Vedic scriptures and Bhagavad gita. However, you don't need to belong to a religion to know killing animals is unnecessary. They too have emotions, even the smallest of creatures. If you want to be truly spiritual, you understand that the energy that gives us life runs through all living things. We are all connected. I would also like to add that with technology and advances in the health food industries, there is no need to eat meat these days. Soy products can mimic chicken, pork, beef, fish etc. and they are 100% meatless! My non-veg friends have even tried them and say they taste similar to meat and actually really like them. Try 'Morning Star' brand at Safeway; they have everything such as veggie soy chicken nuggets, sausages, burger patties, buffalo wings. I have been a vegetarian my whole life and I could not be more happy I was raised this way. I'm only 20, 105lbs. but with no health issues. I am also very spiritual and am proud to not consume anything that once had a heartbeat. Love all things. Good luck!
