When will be the next EARTH campaign?

Who on Earth would contribute to a campaign to put an atheist advert on the side of a London bus???

  • Can you believe it people - apparently some atheists have been trying to collect small donations from other atheists to pay for an advert on London buses which says "There's probably no god. Now stop worrying and get on with your life." http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/aug/06/richarddawkins.religion Proposed picture here: http://www.jonworth.eu/in-your-face-atheism/ I ask you - WHO would actually contact Ariane Sherine at [email protected] to express an interest in contributing to this when the campaign is launched later this year? Surely there is no-one who thinks that £5 (€6.32, US$9.76, CAN$10.19, AUS$10.71) worth spending just to advertise atheism?

  • Answer:

The same sort of person who wouldn't advertise the contact information and the design concept on Yahoo answers. :) I'll contact about sending a donation after my next paycheck. Thanks for the info.!

Considering they're building a 50 foot cross in my city, I'd probably support that sign of your's.

Why not, the other day i saw a billboard that told me to let Jesus into my life.

Praise Cheesus!!!

Haha! I think it's a splendid idea. I would donate. 'I thought perhaps there would be a few comments from theists saying I was a ridiculous human being' How correct she was... Surely God will have meant for this to happen? So stop worrying about it.. ;] x

I LOVE the English! I'd be in for $50 after reading the reason WHY they'd do this.

Colonel Footy?

lol! thanks for the info! : ) Edit: Seekeratthesea: careful, you are begining to rant. If people were trying to convince me that santa was real, and were trying openly to exclude anyone one in government that didn't believe in santa, I would become an asantaist, and contribute money to a cause that paid for a "santa isn't real" campaign too. This is a reaction to all the "godstuff" thats thrown at us daily.

AtheistsAreUs

I would ... though I wonder at the semantics ... ie, wouldn't it be more "agnostic" than atheistic to put on the sign, "There's PROBABLY no god" instead of "There is no god" ? Even though I live on the West Coast in the USA, I think it's a capital idea ... I'll definitely look into it! Thank you.
