Can anyone give a picture that shows the evolution of fish?

Do you agree that faith is needed for both evolution and belief in God?

  • HAVE you wondered why everything from atomic particles to vast galaxies is governed by precise mathematical laws? Have you reflected on life itself—its variety, its complexity, and its amazing design? Many attribute the universe and the life in it to a great cosmic accident and evolution. Others give credit to an intelligent Creator. Which viewpoint do you feel is more reasonable? Of course, both viewpoints involve faith. Belief in God rests on faith. As the Bible says, “no man has seen God at any time.” (John 1:18) Likewise, no human saw the forming of the universe or the commencement of life. Nor has anyone ever seen one kind of life evolve into a higher kind or even into a different kind. The fossil record shows that the major groups of animals appeared suddenly and have remained virtually unchanged.* The key question, therefore, is this: Which faith sits on a firm foundation—faith in evolution or faith in a Creator?d/4/5

  • Answer:

Much more evidence for a creator. There is faith and there is blind faith. Evolution is blind faith, seeing as there is zero evidence for it. Natural selection is one thing, but that is not evolution and explains nothing of how the complexity of life emerged with order from chaos. It's not a system that would allow for any precise mathematical calculations and is in direct opposition to what we know of the order of the universe.

*sigh* No, evolution has mountains of hard scientific EVIDENCE, including direct observation. God? NO evidence. Therefore "god" is the only proposition that requires faith.

Evolution doesn't require faith. All that is needed is a ten-minute session with a biology textbook for it to be understood as fact. Religion is based solely upon faith in the existence of a Divine Being. To say that evolution requires an equal amount of faith as religion is a steaming pile.

Get thee to a nunnery!

Evolution is a scientific fact, and the theory of evolution by natural selection is based on evidence. Faith is belief in something that has no evidence - like god.

"Nor has anyone ever seen one kind of life evolve into a higher kind or even into a different kind." Wrong. http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-speciation.html "The fossil record shows that the major groups of animals appeared suddenly and have remained virtually unchanged." "Suddenly" is not in the sense that you think. "Suddenly" in the geological timeline is many billions of years. Also, to say that they remain virtually unchanged shows that you're either mostly blind or haven't bothered to find evidence. Just because we don't understand the universe 100% means "goddidit." It's like saying Leprechauns were responsible for lightning - until we figured it out. Doesn't make much sense does it? That said, we do know the big bang happened. For sure. Galactic redshift and cosmic microwave background radiation is irrefutable evidence.

Nope. Evolution has actual evidence.

. For belief in God, we need faith. For belief in evolution, we need blind credulity. .

Facepalm. :( Here's an idiot test for Creationists. How long was the Cambrian Explosion? A. Approximately 70-80 million years. B. I'm a ******* idiot. How many of these animal types can be found in the Cambrian Explosion? Giraffe, Dog, Cat, Bear, turkey, goldfish, Tyrannosaurus Rex, iguana. A. None. B. I'm a ******* idiot.

Yes it takes faith for both views. What I love to think about are those that are completely big bang theory people. That takes way more faith than believing we are on a created earth... created by God. Look at the stars in the many constellations and galaxies.. how is it the just by chance they go exactly weather supposed to go at the right moments? believing that is justin accident or some rare occurrence, to me that is hard to believe. believing that God created the earth... and whatever manor he fit...way more believable!

News flash, people invented mathematical formulas to make sense of the universe, it by no means just fell into place mathematically. Math is a human concept, and so is God. The only difference is that math is real and useful. And I have no idea why you mentioned evolution in the question then went off about the universe. And there is no faith required to accept evolution, it is purely scientific. I see you're desperately trying to bring science down to the level of religion. As for your second paragraph, it is wrong. First of all, the Bible is evidence of absolutely nothing. Also, "the fossil record" indicates no such thing. "Suddenly" in terms of earth's history can be millions of years, which fits perfectly in the time it takes for speciation. There is no evidence that all life began at the same time and has never changed. Not to mention transitional fossils which have been discovered and documented for over a century, yet creationists adamantly deny anything which is inconvenient for what the Bible says. I GUARANTEE you copy/pasted that garbage from a creationist website. Creationism is pseudoscience.
