Why is she doing this? She could use vein structure, colour and leaf perimeter structure (e.g. variegated versus non-variegated) I would have said tree species but that would involve a collection of properties not one single property. Hope she gets her leaf collection sorted. Regards

Hard woods, evergreens, desert, tropical. Almost all leaves have veins, and dimensions. Use categories that really show the differences.
