(that is they are funnel's, the linear mileage length of air (low pressure) is propelled by where the hi pressure guide's this mass. Hi pressure is drought-low pressure is many thing's drizzle-black thunderstorm's-all low pressure stuff, so the geology of Western USA make's massive storm's like what's hitting the midwest, not depend of a pass to funnel their sogginess, but are super storm's.
