What is the global warming?

Man-made Causes of Global Warming.. what dont cons understand about man made?

  • Man-made Causes of Global Warming Man-made causes probably do the most damage to our planet. There are many man-made causes of global warming. Pollution is one of the biggest man-made problems. Pollution comes in many shapes and sizes. Burning fossil fuels is one thing that causes pollution. Fossil fuels are fuels made of organic matter such as coal, or oil. When fossil fuels are burned they give off a green house gas called CO2. Also, mining coal and oil allows methane to escape. How does it escape? Methane is naturally in the ground. When coal or oil is mined you have to dig up the earth a little bit. When you dig up the fossil fuels you dig up the methane as well letting it escape into the atmosphere. Another major man-made cause of Global Warming is population. More people means more food, and more methods of transportation. That means more methane because there will be more burning of fossil fuels (if you're into gas burning cars like our planet is), and more agriculture. If you've been in a barn filled with animals and you smelled something terrible, you were smelling methane. Another source of methane is manure. Because more food is needed to feed the population we have to raise food. Animals like cows are a source of food which means more manure and hence more methane. Another problem with the increasing population is transportation. More people means more cars, and more cars means more pollution. Also, many people have more than one car. There are definitely ways of raising animals and farming that use no manure and no methane. Once we realized the problem we should have stopped immediately using manure. Instead we choose to continue killing the planet. We are a very stubborn race. Since CO2 contributes to global warming, the increase in population makes the problem worse because we breathe out CO2. Also, the trees that convert our CO2 to oxygen are being cut down because we're using the land that we cut the trees down from as property for our homes and buildings. We are not replacing the trees (trees are a very important part of our eco-system), so we are constantly taking advantage of our natural resources and giving nothing back in return.

  • Answer:

Is this a question or a lecture? It is absolutely true we have excess population and pollution. The salient question is whether these are the *primary* causes of Global Warming. A big part of the problem behind this is that the question has been politicized. A liberal will buy into the scientific reasoning because that's what liberals do. Conservatives reject the evidence because that's what conservatives do. This situation actually prevents legitimate research from being done. If you want research grants you have to be a faithful follower of Mr. Gore... otherwise you're a crackpot and an evildoer. Consider that most of what we know about climate change comes from research models of the Earth's weather and climate systems. Interestingly, not one of the current mathematical models allows for the well-known phenomenon we call El Nino. According to their numbers it can't exist. Yet, these are the models we're using (Mr. Gore is using) to justify his climate change claims. How can we get better models? Well... we can't as long as we have blatant political interference in the process. Here's the real situation: Climate Change is real and it is happening. Right now. Present tense... but how much of the process is a natural rythmic occurence (it's happened many times before - each Ice Age ended because of a period of Global Warming) and how much is the result of evil society? And if it is in our laps, what are we doing about it? 10% to 15% reductions in gasses over the next 20 years? We're hosed! I picture a committee sitting in a living room. Someone says, "Hey, do I smell smoke?" Actually the house has been burning for half an hour. So what's their reaction? "I know, let's do a study on fire prevention!" Point being, if we are seeing change right now the 15% reduction over 20 years is meaningless. The only way to stop it - if it's not too late (and if we are the cause) is to stop all CO2 emissions right now. All of it. Of course, you've just put 2 billion people to death, but so what?
