How much acreage is in a lot?

How can i figure out total acreage of land by using the size of the lot?

  • Answer:

Find the area of the lot. If it is rectangular, multiply the width by the length. There are 43,560 square feet in an acre, so divide this number by your result (which should be in square feet) to find the answer in acres. If your lot is irregularly shaped, try to section it down into rectangles and triangles and find the area of each section, then add the sections together before converting to acres. Note: The area of a triangle can be found by multiplying its base by its height and then dividing by 2.

Yes, 1 acre = 43560 sq. ft. Let n be the number of square feet of your lot. n / 43560 equals number of acres.
