slope of 3x + 5y = 8 is -3/5, slope of perpendicular is 5/3, so equation is 5x – 3y = c, and to get c, plug in (0,9) making it 5x – 3y = -27 slope is 9/5 and 9 is the y intercept, so y = 9x/5 + 9 slope is 1/4, so x – 4y = c ∙ ∙ ∙ 2 – 4(5) = -18 ∙ ∙ ∙ x – 4y = -18 plot (1,-1). from there go up 5, right 4 to (5,4), plot that, and draw a line through them.
