Which UK Universities have the best maths faculties?

A level maths needed for chemistry degree?

• hi, i really want to do a chemistry degree at universities in the UK like, Warwick, Bath, York, UCL etc however was just wondering how much maths was involved in the course. my a levels are the following Chemistry predicted grade A Biology predicted grade A Psychology predicted grade B Fine Art predicted grade A i have no maths a level, (still in yr 12) and was just wondering if this would be a massive disadvantage to me a) for applying to one of the above universities and b) coping with the course if i was fortunate enough to be accepted thank you for any help/advice, i appreciate your time :D do you know anyone who has got into a good uni for a similar subject without maths?

  You should look on the websites of the universities you are interested in. For example York's entry requirements re: other subjects partly depends on what grade you get in chemistry. http://www.york.ac.uk/chemistry/undergraduate/entryrequirements/ Warwick asks for chemistry plus another science or maths subjects, but states that A-level maths is preferred. http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/depta2z/chemistry/f100/ You are interested in good universities so there is going to be a lot of competition for places so not having a maths A-level may be an issue. Maybe you should phone the admissions departments of the universities you are interested in and ask their advice.
