Has anyone been through the appeals?

School appeals for high school - has anyone gone through the process and had success?

• i`ve got to go to the appeals panel next week to state my case, my case is that we are not living in the area yet of the school i want him to go to but have bought a house and exchanged contracts and completion date is the middle of july. Has anyone else been through the appeals process and actually got a place. can anyone give me any tips or good advice that may help me to get a place for my son.

  I had to do this for my children several years ago. You simply state your position. Show that you have purchased the home in the school's area, prove that the deal is to be completed by mid-July and that you don't want your son to be moved from the old school to the new school, right after the start of the year. He would then have to catch up the work in the new district. It would be much less of a hassle if he is already in the new school, for him, for you AND for his new set of teachers and school administrators. Make sure that they understand that you are thinking of the inconvenience to them. Goes a long way! Good Luck, congratulations on the new home, and I hope this works.
