Is it possible to finish my A levels outside of school?
-
Okay, I think I'll need to give a little bit of background. Last year, due to personal reasons, I dropped out of my year group and took the rest of the school year off with the intentions of returning to school at the beginning of the new school year but I would be going into the year group below me in order to repeat the year that I'd missed. Therefore I am currently studying in a Lower Sixth year group while the year group I progressed with for five years are now in Upper Sixth (Final Year). Now this is the problem. I HATE it. I really haven't settled with the new students of this year and none of them have seemed to be very accepting of me. I hate my school life and miss my friends like mad, I can only ever see them at break and lunch but even then due to different agendas their year group is usually always being taken to university outings or something as such so I'm left on my own. I'm terrified of what next year will be like when they all leave for good and I don't think I can take much more. But I KNOW I need a good education and thats the problem. I have to get good A levels and I know I can get them but I have absolutely no motivation towards a career choice that I like nor do I have any care to get up for school in the mornings, I nearly cry when I even think about it. I'm worried that I'm going to do something drastic and stupid if I don't find a solution soon and despite currently seeing two councillors, I can't see any help coming my way soon. Overall I've concluded that school is the major problem, I like learning but I hate the school environment. So, can anyone help me? Is there any way I can finish my A-levels without having to pay hundreds for a private tutor? Or is it possible to continue being linked with the school but work completely at home? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:
Your local college should have A-Level courses. You'll find that there are alot of people there who are in the same boat as you, maybe even alot older and wanting to bring their grades up.
