What particular topic in high school Math can be taught with the Montessori Method?
-
particularly in Geometry... I recently learned about the use of didactic materials in the Montessori Method but I don't have any such materials and I'm about to do my demonstration teaching for a teaching position in Math in a Montessori College (but I'll be teaching in high school level). So I need help, what topic in Geometry or in any kind of Math that can be taught with Montessori Method in a span of 45 minutes? Also, the materials should be something that I can easily construct in a matter of 12 hours.

Answer:
I teach trigonometry using the Montessori approach. But my trig board would not be easy to make. On the other hand, you could create charts of the circle showing the trig relationships with each color-coded. Have one chart completely labeled and a second without labels. Then have a set of labels that can be placed on the unlabeled chart. This works very well, even for middle school students.

You can use a circle metal inset to show, visually, the relationship of the diameter to the circunference (Pi if you will). Also, you can use the Trinomial Cubes to explain Algebraic problems. The problem is that if this is for a Montessori school/college, the students already know these things...they get introduced to them at preschool levels. If it were NOT a Montessori School, these materials would surprise/entertain the children.

go to a site that tests intelligence at the end of the test it will ask you how to graph answers and it will also show you the way each person who takes this i am 38 and recently went back to school in high school math and i did not get along my college professor told me about it and said to take the test and bring it to her she read the test and we found out that i am a catalytic learner which means i need to move and a naturalistic learner which means that if should put a math problem up using something from nature to work a formula that i would understand it faster and retain it geometry and gardening
