Can you help me with High School please?

*I'M SORRY THAT THIS IS SO LONG, BUT PLEASE HELP ME, I'M DESPERATE* Hi, so I currently live in Florida, and I am in 8th grade, and I'm 13. It is April 3, my middle school graduation is on June 5. I am probably moving to Boston, MA for high school. I am so nervous, beyond nervous, and sad, and scared, and just confused and unprepared. First of all, I went to middle school and elementary with the same people, 9 years in total. Leaving them is going to be extremely hard. They are like my family. But unfortunately, that's the least of my problems... My parents literally hate each other. Like, they don't even call each other by their names. The most you can get out of them is that my mom calls my dad "Husband" directly, sarcastically. A few days ago as I came home my mom said that I should go look at this old photo album that she found, so me and my dad started looking at it. Then my mom said to me: "Come here so I can see it too!" and I'm like "okay..." and I told my dad to come as well. My dad said "no, that's okay. I'll look at it later in peace." Yes, it's that bad. And they curse at each other all the time. The things they say to each other... I cannot describe what it is like to have parents who love you, but hate each other with a passion. I'm sure, somewhere, EXTREMELY deep inside, they might love each other, but... then again I'm not sure. My mom has said so many times, crying, how she wants a divorce so bad... but she won't do it for me and my sister. And I know, a divorce might make them both more at peace... but I would not be able to take it. I just can't. And it's not for selfish reasons. I just... can't live to see my parents divorce. Breaking the two people apart that made me... is like directly breaking ME. Anyway, the problem is that my mom wants to move and my dad doesn't. I can't even begin to tell you about the countless nights that I wake up hearing them yell at each other, arguing, in a very... vulgar way, my mom crying. My mom wants to move because my parents are both architects and Boston is the architectural center of the US. Also, my dad's job salary got cut in half due to no work here in FL (my mom works from home so she can live practically anywhere). Moving there would also mean a good insurance for the family that is not priced sky-high, like we have it here in FL. She also hates the hot Florida weather... My mom wants to move NOW, as I am graduating middle school, and my sister is graduating college. My dad doesn't want to move because... he doesn't like change? I don't know... But anyway, I can't take one of their sides because that will cause even more conflicts between them... If my dad gets his way, my mom will probably have her life ruined... This is her one dream... I support my mom because she is thinking about the important stuff too, but I support my dad because I am so terrified... Unfortunately, I, too, have a tremendous fear of change. I was terrified for high school since like, 5th grade, when I thought that I would be going to high school here, to my sister's old high school. Right now, I get nauseous just thinking about it, that I might move across the country. I have absolutely no idea where I will live. No idea what school I will go to. I don't even know if I will make friends... MY QUESTIONS: 1) On my first day of high school, if I don't end up making any friends in my classes before lunch, what happens during lunch??? Do I sit alone, and hope for the best? Or do I pick a friendly looking group of girls and awkwardly go into their group? 2) How do I make friends, anyway? I'm really shy, especially when it comes to meeting people. 3) I will probably get lost... what do I do if I can't find my classes? 4) Any other tips about anything...? Thank you for listening.... I think I just had to let this all out. And thank you so much for the advice. I really appreciate it! And I'm sorry if I sound over dramatic, I'm just scared. Thanks again. xx

Answer:
I hope that everything works out well for your family. If you are going to have to move, it is better to move before you start high school. It is much worse to have to move after you start high school. At lunch, see if you see any girls that were in any of your classes. Ask if you can sit down. Otherwise, just sit down by yourself the first day. Join clubs. There will probably be an orientation before school starts so you can see where your classes are.

First of all, I'm really sorry about your parents.. I know what it's like. My parents have been divorced since I was five and they still fight ALL the time. To answer your questions: 1.) I'm sure you'll have friends by then! If you don't then just find someone who seems nice and ask if a seat is open. 2.) Just simply say hi and tell them your name. I'm shy too so I was worried about the same thing when I started highschool. Mostly people just come up to you. 3.) If you get lost just ask a teacher. 4.) You'll get used to highschool in no time! And it's super fun(:

First of all I'm really sorry to hear about your parents :'-( 1) You WILL have made friends by then, trust me! 2) The way I would do it is even though you may be shy just Act confident! I gets you a lot more friends if people think you are confident, they might not be confident either! 3) Just ask a techer or a friendly looking student! 4) About your parents, well..... them being unhappy probably makes you sad, right? It may just be a phase but if they do then try to support them, it will make them really unhappy if they kniw you are xx
