Is stopping school bullying a good topic for a persuasive essay?

    Hello Jonathan, yes i think is good topic. Look at this: School bullying is an intentional act caused by a child who’s trying to harm another child. This act is generally cruel, malicious, or humiliating behavior. It is demeaning and can cause untold stress, anger and suffering to those on the receiving end, which in some cases can lead to suicide. What causes bullying? What can bullying lead to? and what can be done to prevent bullying? There may be as many reasons for one child to bully another as there are bullies, but a review of several studies has found certain common themes, and many shared attributes between various bullies and various victims. Low self-esteem causes bullies to put down other people to feel better about themselves. Another reason is the desire for attention. Children who do not get attention or emotional support at home may try to get noticed even in negative ways. To do this, they may try to become the center of attention by humiliating someone else. I think it's a really good idea. It's a big issue that seems to not be one of the FIRST ideas when thinking of ways to improve schools. I definitely think if schools would recognize some of the behaviors coming from bullies and help the issue, school would be a better. School is supposed to make you feel safe right? Kids who get bullied don't feel safe at school. Some other persuasive essay topics relating around 'school' could be, School Lunches. Are they actually healthier or not? School Uniforms, Are you against them or for them? School's Expenditures. Is your school spending money on the right things and supplies? (Gosh, we all know MY school isn't.) Maybe, Classes you are able to choose from.

yes, it is a great topic for a persuasive essay, just make sure you add lots of good facts and diff points of view might help too. And here are a few more good topics: - whether or not vending machines should be taken out of schools - is the Death Penalty humane - should abortion be legalized - should students be forced to eat school lunches - should prayer be allowed in schools - should students be REQUIRED to stand, place there hand over their heart, and recite the Pledge of Allegiance before every school day and there are plenty more. just choose something you feel you can argue the most on. good luck :)

If your goal is to persuade someone to agree with you, you want an your topic to be one that others would disagree with. You might be hard-pressed to find someone who would disagree that school bullying should be stopped. Nonetheless, if you tie in enough examples on how to stop bullying, the topic would be absolutely fine. If you're allowed to put a creative or personal twist on your essay, then you could possibly write it addressing bullies and persuading them to stop. Maybe you could try to write a persuasive essay on a school policy you disagree with. For example, if you aren't allowed to wear, let's say, hooded sweatshirts at your school, then you could write to persuade someone that it should be permitted. You could also do something on common school debates, such as school uniforms or the length of the school day. You could also write your essay on a national debate topic, such as capital punishment. It's a great topic if you have a passion for it and maybe a bit of personal experience to call on. You could actually make a good argument either way depending upon how you want to stop it. Society is slowly learning that protecting kids too much from life isn't good for them because then they don't learn or develop basic coping skills that are necessary in the real world.

yah. its kinda lame in a way. but at the same time, its a pretty important topic. and it give you ALOT to work with. just be warned. alot of kids might already do it.
