  Unalienable rights are rights that cannot be taken away from us because they are given by our Creator (not creators). We are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The government is to keep us safe, not to intrude on our lives or take our property without due process. This does not mean we can do whatever we want -- we must act so we don't take away rights of other citizens or break laws. The government does not give us these rights.
