However, the one that stands out the most is the beauty of young love. Many people find it easy to relate to the two young lovers because it is very realistic and believable. Shakespeare has done a phenomenal job in writing this romantic, yet tragic play. Romeo and Juliet share such a strong and powerful love for each other. Not only do they have physical passion, but their love is also pure and true love. They have a spiritual connection with each other which makes their love the strongest of all. Thesis: Throughout the course of the play, Shakespeare introduces the romantic theme of the beauty of young love in several ways. Argument 1 Topic Sentence: Romeo and Juliet are very physically and sexually passionate with each other. Development of Argument: They have a special intimacy in their relationship which makes their love so unique. It is extremely hard for them not to see and be with each other so often because they are very impatient and enjoy spending every moment together. Romeo and Juliet are immature lovers as well. They act very childish when it comes to their love. They cannot really keep their hands off each other. There is just that strong connection they have together which cannot be broken. This sexual and physical love that is being explained is presented throughout the first two acts of the play. Significant Quotation: (ACT 3 – SCENE 2) Concluding Statement: This type of love is very common in this play because many of the characters use a lot of sexual connotation. Transition Statement: This is the real reason why Romeo and Juliet continue to see each other and develop their physical love into true and spiritual love. Argument 2 Topic Sentence: During the beginning of the play, Romeo and Juliet’s true love for each other is revealed. Development of Argument: The moment they met eyes at the Capulet ball, they happened to fall in love. It is love at first sight for them. Their love is not only true love, but it is also spiritual. It is very deep and emotional. When they reveal their love to each other, it is all based on respect for a person’s inner beauty. Romeo and Juliet love each other even though they are from feuding families. They put all of that conflict aside because they want to be with each other no matter what. This shows that they have a powerful connection with each other that blocks everything else out. Romeo and Juliet’s true love is presented in the first act when they first meet at the Capulet ball. Argument 3 Topic Sentence: One of the most famous scenes in Romeo and Juliet would have to be the balcony scene in which light and dark imagery is firstly introduced. Development of Argument: This specific scene shows exactly how deep their love is and how much they truly love each other. It is not only expressed in words or actions, but also their strong love is shown through light and dark imagery. Significant Quotations: The line, “Juliet is the sun” (2.2.3) is a good example of light imagery. Romeo says this to explain that Juliet shines just like the sun because she is so beautiful. Another use of light imagery used by Romeo is, “The brightness of her cheek would shame those stars, as daylight doth a lamp.” (2.2.19-20) This line means that the brightness of Juliet’s cheeks would shine brighter than the stars just like the sun is brighter than a lamp. Basically, what all these lines mean is that Juliet is extremely beautiful and she has a glow that no one else has. Since Romeo uses a lot of light imagery to describe Juliet, she uses dark imagery to describe Romeo. She says, “Come, Night, come, Romeo, come, thou day in night, for thou wilt lie upon the wings of night, whiter than new snow upon a raven’s back.” (3.2.17-19) Also, Juliet says, “And when I shall die, take him and cut him out into little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night, and pay no worship to the garish sun.” (3.2.21-25) This means that when she dies, she is going to turn him into stars and form a constellation in his image. His face will make the heavens so beautiful that the world is going to fall in love with night and forget about day. Concluding Statement: All of these lines that Juliet is expressing really means that Romeo represents the night. Transition Statement: Throughout many of the scenes in the play, light and dark imagery is the main focus.

  I would say the third sentence is the best, you use literary elements which should make your teacher/professor jump for joy. There are many examples in the play of this so finding evidence shouldn't be a problem. Other images Romeo calls her an angel, symbolically light figure, how he came out of the dark when he might Juliet, stuff along those line. It should come out to be a pretty good essay. Good Luck!!!
