• I wote an essay and i was wondering if some one can tell me if its good. For it enough to be a response to literature essay P.S. I'm in gate/honors classes and only in 7th grade. please be nice :) One of the most remarkable stories that I have ever read is called, “To Sleep Under the Stars”, written by Carol Shaw Gresham. In the story an average girl named Cecilia finds out one of the most important lessons in life, blood is thicker than water. And not even noticing the changes she goes through. In the beginning of the story Cecilia wants to go to a felid trip with her friends. But it’s the exact same day that her family was going to take care of her very ill grandmother. The exact moment when Cecilia’s mother discovers Cecilia’s plan she automatically snaps at her. Her mother yells at the top of her lungs, her voice filled with fiery rage, telling Cecilia several reasons why she may not go. Cecilia is so selfish enough to believe that water is more important than blood. In other words her friends and her desires come first then family. The clock was ticking rapidly, and before you knew it the day came where she was forced to go to her grandmother’s house. While Cecilia was in the car you can feel her depression just by looking at her sad and gloomy face. She was so depressed that she didn’t even feel just a little bit happy because she was passing through her favorite rode that would once would put a smile on her face as a child. When she arrived at her grandmother’s house she wiped the frown right off of her faced and replaced it with an adorable smile. She came inside of her grandmother’s house and saw grandma. So she decided to start a conversation. After about five to ten minuets both of their relationships grew a bit more every second. After a while disusing with her grandmother they would share many different types of similarities. One of the main subject’s they were disusing was astronomy. Cecilia opened up to her sweet grandmother and told her that one of her dreams was to sleep under the stars. But she never could since her mother would nag to her and say she would get sick because it turns icy cold when the sum hides on the other side of the earth. When her grandmother her what she said a great wide open smile began to show. And she said, “I know a way that you can sleep under the stars and still be warm”. She brought out a big wide chest a took out a beautiful hand woven quit. When Cecilia laid her eyes of the quit her eyes would begin to enlarge with excitement. Every little peace her grandmother saw a memories would come back to her wise old mine. With lots of affection her grandmother gladly gave Cecilia the quit. At that moment a very strong relationship grew between them. Nevertheless the story “To Sleep Under the Stars”, written by Carol Shaw Gresham is a wonderful story. Explaining how a young teenaged girl realizes that blood is thicker than water, Through out the whole story Cecilia changes from a bitter, selfish girl to a thankful and appreciative young lady.

She is so depressed that she doesn’t feel even just a little bit happy as she rides along her favorite road that once would have put a smile on her face. She tells Cecilia, “I know a way that you can sleep under the stars and still be warm.” She brings out a wide chest and takes out a beautiful hand woven quilt. When Cecilia sees it her eyes opened wide with excitement! Her grandmother tells her that when she made the quilt every piece was a memory so that when she looked at the quilt they would remind her of all those memories. With lots of affection her grandmother gladly gives Cecilia the quilt. At that moment a very strong relationship grows between them. They share the bond of family. “To Sleep Under the Stars”, by Carol Shaw Gresham is a wonderful story. Throughout the story the reader shares the process of Cecilia changing from a bitter, selfish girl to a thankful and appreciative young lady who learns the value of family - that blood truly is thicker than water!
