How to graph a quadratic function on a graphing calculator?

How do I graph just one function on my Ti-83 graphing calculator?

  • Hi. I have the ti-83 graphing calculator. After I press "y=" button and put in all my functions. When I hit the graph button, it graphs all the functions that I entered. But I only want it to graph say "Y2=" function and not including Y1= or Y3=. Does anybody know how to do this? Or is that even possible? For example, when I put in: Y1= Y2= Y3= I put in a function for each Y= but I only want it to graph Y2= and not all of them. Can someone please help me.

  • Answer:

When you type in y1 and y2 and y3, the equals sign next to them is highlighted. If you move your cursor over to the enter sign for y1 then press enter, the = sign won't be highlighted. This means the function is still there and won't be graphed. If you want to graph Y1 again, just put the cursor onto the unhighlighted = sign and press enter.

Move your cursor over the "=" sign of each function you don't want graphed and deselect them.
