How to promote a website?

How can I promote my website?

  • I have listed my website in various search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Ask.com and I've added links in a MySpace bulletin and I've listed it in my blog, as well as on my MySpace page. I want to list it on forums, but all of the forums I've been to say that it's against the rules to promote or advertise your website. Are there any forums where you can promote your website? Also, what are some other options for promoting my website for free?

    Thats what your signature line is for when you get to answering questions in a forum your signature line should have some form of your website link I do this all the time and it works fine for me. as for other free methods why not put some free classified ads up on popular site or join some toplists and those will get you some traffic as long as people vote for your site. http://www.moneyrushonline.com

While most newsgroups and BBS have strict rules against spam, most do not mind a small 1 or 2 line sig line with commercial information at the end of a posting as long as your post is relavent to the topic. You may want to get in the habit of including your web address and a tag line in all of your out going messages and posts. This goes a long way if you post alot as the bots will pick up your address.

Please don't just visit to spam them, it makes you look bad and they won't give you any business either, just remember "genuine input".
