How to bid small construction jobs?

Are there people you can pay to bid construstion jobs for you?

  • ok i have my construction contrastors licens for the state of oregon. only problem now is i have no idea how to bid jobs. i have been trying to find some one who knows how to bid but i keep finding zip...so what can i do? can i just hire some construction guys and then pay a 3rd party to do by biding for me? i got my licens last year when i had no idea what i was going to do with my life so my father talked me in to getting the licens. now i some what regret it. i have no intrest in bussiness and have lass intrest starting one from scratch. i would perfer realestate investing and stock investing.

    Well... I was about to tell you about what a Project Manager does, but after reading your second paragraph I would say you're in the wrong line of business. As much as I'm sure you love your dad, and as much as you probably want to please him - you need to live your own life. Every body has certain gifts and abilities that help them to be successful in life; but, if you go down the wrong path you can't use these gifts and abilities and you may end up robbing yourself of your own success. If you decide to try to make a go of it with construction, I would suggest that you partner up with some older, more experienced contractor, someone who can show the ropes. Or... here in California, the title of the job you're inquiring about is called a "Project Manager". A Project Manager works with the contractor to estimate construction costs, make bids and secure the proper permits. You can advertise for a Project Manager but because Oregon is such a small market, you may have trouble finding a good one and they demand a pretty high salary. Consider what I said first about going after what your really want to do.

Alo Ok I was connected with Dept. of Public Works and Highways for 22 years and almost held the Pre-qualification and Bidding but male was available. So I observed the work of contractors and the representative they send to bidding. You can proceed to your depat of public works and highways and associate with the Director or staff you they could give you tip on how to process papers or recommend reliable alter ego of yours plus how to organize your construction firm. You money is involved thereat and it needs strict management other your money will be wasted . You may join the bidding together with representative of your choice to be able to understand the work order, estimate, Bidding and Award.also you need to know about negotiated contracts, your performance bond, etc. Its the most enjpoing job I saw.
