Contact them to arrange for a free one on one meeting with a SCORE counselor about opening a bar and grille.. SCORE is a nonprofit organization. They provide a public service by offering small business advice and training. SCORE's 10,500 volunteers have more than 600 business skills. Volunteers share their wisdom and lessons learned in business. The volunteers are working/retired business owners, executives and corporate leaders.

If u have enough finance support, & experience then why woriied about it. If your fiance is with u.... & there is understanding eachother. Then nothing problem.

the liquor license might be you hardest challenge... i think in some states they only issue a certain amount per city/county/borough

Talk to other small business owners, especially bar owners. The thought of working til 3am every night may help you decide exactly what you want to open. I have a friend who opened a bar right after college with a friend. It was fairly successful but he sold it after five years because he got burned out.

You can get a book that will tell you step by step everything you need to do. Just ask at any major book store and they will direct you to them. Good Luck on your dreams!

For my first business, I went to my library. I found lots of books (that I didn't have to buy) as well as local information as to where to register the business. They also had all kinds of business magazines that I browsed through for articles related to my venture. I found the librarian very help-full too. It was a great place to start for me, I hope your local library is equipped as good as mine was. Good luck with your venture.

He can easily get an associates degree for this at a community college. It will be the best investment he can make now. I took that at college and it was interesting and fun. The cooking part is easy, but how to go up against competition is what he needs to learn, so he can know what is going on in the restaurant world. I think also that the most important thing is to treat the customer as if you were preparing the meal for youself. Look up the different restaurants and see where they fail and where they succeed. I know a man who started a Chinese food restaurant and it did not succeed and I believe it was because he was in it only for money and not for people. Serving alcolholic beverages is not a good thing, but that is your decision to make.
