What are the processes one must go through to start their own business?

• I and a group of coleages have gotten together recently and have decided that we wish to form a filming company. We plan to write, film, produce, and eventually sell our productions. Now as for getting started. We are new to the independant filming scene, and wish to know what processes we need to go through to officially create our company, and then later on, copyright our name, ideas, and productions.
