How do you block users..in the yahoo messenger?

Messanger --> preferences -- > add the yahoo ID of the person who wants to block, in the ignore list

First, delete them off of your list. Second, close the chat box. When the IM you again, there should be a green cross and a red circle with a line through it. The red circle is to block the user.
