What is the gas-to-oil ratio for a 20 horsepower Evinrude outboard motor?
-
The motor is from 1998. I would like to know the gas-to-oil ratio and what kind of oil I should buy and where. Thank you!
-
Answer:
The ratio is 50:1 Gas to oil. That's one pint for 6 gallons. That's why you have a 6 gal fuel tank. Most Mechanics will tell you a "little extra" is not needed nor desired.

50 to 1 and use outboard motor oil only. Any parts store should have the oil. do not use regular motor oil.

Use 50-1 oil. It's sold at marine stores and some auto parts stores. One pint to 6 gallons of gas.
