How can I fix a radio antenna?

What could I do to fix my VHF radio antenna?

  • I did something embarrassing. After I was done fishing,I left my VHF antenna up and it broke going under a bridge. I was wondering if there is a way I can fix it. Like a repair kit or does anyone have any ideas of fixing it. Its made a flexible material kinda like a very thing wood. Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Answer:

It's not repairable. Go buy a new one. The windings inside of the core is now damaged.

If it hasn't broken the cable inside slide a rubber hose over it and see it it tranmits and recieves if so U can repair it if not replace it.

Sorry, just buy a new one.

It's a fiberglass shell. The element inside is probably damaged, so even fixing the tube might not help. Just take a trip to the marine store. You can find usable antennas for $30.
