How To Check Boat History Free?

I need a reputable marine mechanic that can check out a boat for me before I buy it in Lake of the Ozarks.?

Can anybody give me a suggestion for a good mechanic to look at a boat before I buy it? Im coming in from St Louis and dont know the area very well. The boat is an older Mariah 27' with a 454 in it. Any estimates on how much they would charge? Also would like to get a compression test done, is this typically included when a mechanic checks out the boat? What should I ask the mechanic to check out on the boat? The boat location is: Mid-Missouri Yacht Brokerage 3855 Highway 54 Osage Beach, MO 65065 Thank you in advance for any info you can provide!

You need a MARINE SURVEYOR.. not just some MECHANIC'S GUESS.. the ONLY THING that INSURANCE COMPANIES recognize are from MARINE SURVEYORS and Mid-Mo should be able to put you in touch with a CERTIFIED MARINE SURVEYOR.
