What is cerebral stroke?

What is the difference between 2 stroke and 4 stroke engine..In 2 stroke it has only 1 revolution of crankshaf?

  • and in 4 stroke 2 revolution of crankshaft...any other difference..

  • Answer:

2 Stroke means one stroke in each direction. A 2 stoke engine will have a compression stroke followed by ignition of the compressed fuel. On the return stroke new fuel mixture is inserted into the cylinder. A 4 stroke engine has 1 compression stroke and 1 exhaust stoke. Each is followed by a return stroke. The compression stroke compresses the fuel air mixture prior to the gas explosion. The exhaust stroke simply pushes the burnt gases out the exhaust. The majority of four stroke engines are fairly similar(ish) in design but there are many different types of design of two stroke engines from tiny model aircraft or chainsaw engines to massive ships diesel engines. The only true comparison of 2 strokes to 4 strokes is that a 2 stroke (in theory) produces twice the power of a 4 stroke for the same sized engine and the same revs.

4 stroke: intake, compression, power, exhaust. 2 stroke: intake is combined with exhaust and compression and power are combined within one rotation each the difference is the crank shaft rotations. 4 strokes are more efficient are are more durable and keeps the engine cleaner than 2 strokes

lets pretend its ajust a one cylinder motor for simplicity. and lets call the piston at top dead center (TDC) the starting point. a 2 stroke motor at the starting point is about to fire the spark plug for the power stroke. its piston will travel all the way to bottom dead center (BDC), which causes the crankshafty to rotate 180 degrees (half a rotation). when its at BDC the burnt exhuast can exit and be replaced with fresh air and fuel through ports in the side. as it begins to go back up, the piston covers up those ports and the air fuel mixture gets compressed. when its fully compressed its back to TDC, the starting point. in a 2 stroke motor, 360 degrees of crank shaft rotation is one full cycle. now, a 4 stroke motor. we'll start at the same point, TDC on compression. as soon as we start, its firing the plugs and beginning the power stroke. when it gets to BDC, power stroke has ended, crank has turned 180 degrees. exhuast stroke begins, valves above the piston open to let teh exhuast out as the piston returns to TDC. at TDC again, the starting point, the crank has turned a full 360, a full rotation. but the cyle is only halfway done. the piston begins to travel towards BDC, and the intake valve has opened allowing fresh air and fuel to enter.. at BDC, we have 540 degrees of rotation, and are filled with air and fuel again, valve closes. piston goes back up to TDC, the starting point, and compresses the air fuel mixture. at TDC, it fires and the cycle begins again. a 4 stroke motor has one power stroke per cylinder every 720 degrees of crank rotation, every 2 full revolutions. a 2 stroke has one every 360. 4 stroke motors have more parts and are heavier. but 2 stroke motors are far dirtier running and less fuel effecient as there isnt anything to keep the fresh feul from going right out with teh exhuast. BTW, this is all gas engines. diesel doesnt have spark plugs, IF it has glow plugs they are only used for starting easier/quicker. diesel fuel isnt mixed into the air before entering the cylinder, its squirted directly into the already compressed (and superheated) air inside the clyinder when at TDC on the compression stroke. and diesel can be either 2 or 4 stroke as well. the 2 stroke models may have exhuast valves above the piston like a 4 stroke motor does, but it has the same ports that open with the piston down for fresh air to flow in through. detriot diesel the 6v52 (72?) was a 2 stroke motor and had both a super and a turbo charger, it had to have positive pressure to force teh exhuast out, super works at low rpms, including idle, turbo kicks in at higher rpms.

Sure - Two Stroke engine you need to mix oil with the gas. 4 Stroke you don't.
