What do we need from a fossil fuel?

What kind of fuel fitting will i need to connect a fuel line to my motor?

• with alot of research, i figured out that i need a fitting to connect to my sears/eska (ted williams) outboard. but the question is, can i connect say, a johnson/evinrude fitting to the engine or do i need to find one of the original fittings, and if so, where can i get one?

  wow! that's an oldie.if it has a two "pin" connection,a j/e connector should work,but there are different sizes on the fuel "pin".be sure that it fits tightly.if you can get the engine side connector off easily,take it with you to ensure a proper fit.if you need to run the engine while the connector is off,a hose barb will allow you to make the connection without altering anything while you are looking for one.i had a five horse eska (air cooled),but the tank was on the engine.never had a problem with it.++++++++++edit+++++++++ your first gander mountain link shows a type of connector that suzuki used also. they work like an air hose quick coupler.you will need the female end. best that i remember,there are four different ones depending on hose size and the size of the coupler itself.1/4" and 5/16" on the hose,and a large and small coupler.if the fitting on your engine looks like the one in the first link,then the merc style in the second link will not work.if you don't have a suzuki dealer in your area, you might try a company called sierra marine.++++++++edit again++++++ yep that's it.check the o/d of the fitting on the engine.if you don't have a dial caliper,find an open end wrench that fits the outside of the male fitting (close to the end) on the engine,and check the specs on the female connector.i was looking through a west marine catalog today and they should have what you need also.
