Vintage Hydroplane- Have you heard of a boat maker Named NATIONAL MARINE In Miami FL.?

  • This question was posted two years ago and I have since given up on the project but have now decided to try again so here it goes........ I have a vintage 8 ft fiberglass Flat bottom/ Hydroplane with a 1959' 18hp Evinrude Fastwin, simplex controls and period correct steering wheel etc. The problem is that I am trying to register it in PA but I cannot find any info on the boat or the company that made it. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Answer:

National Marine changed hands before going out of business in the 60's. they might have been around as late as 1967. However, there is little to be gained from pursuing the company. I'm assuming that you need a certificate of origin, and a bill of sale to register the boat in PA. What I think you should do, is make an affidavit, specifying how and when you came into possession of the boat, and stating that no title, or registration can be found......... Then speak to a supervisor at the DMV?DNR, and see if you can get an antique boat designation.
