How old do you have to be to drive a boat and how much would one coast?

    16. The rules are quite firm and you need to contact your state transport authority for the specific requirements where you live. Coasting I am not sure of, but there are permits available for the under 16 kids that restrict size of boat, horsepower and speed. With a full licence holder sitting next to you you are permitted to operate a powerboat under 10 knots in several jurisdictions. You can't do much otherwise apart from breaking the law, which is highly NOT recommended. As with all licensing, there is a cost, and again that will be answered by going to your local rego office and asking, or look them up online, you are obviously on the net.

Well I don't think small boat drivers need a license. I drove a boat at 15 with no problem. The boat and the trailer were registered however with the state. You can coast until it runs out of gas.
