depends where your based, if in the UK go to a seaport where containers are stored, your be able to pick one up for around a grand, or maybe cheaper.

Different people have different definitions of cheap. The containers on ships are called Sea Containers. Most of the cargo ports in the US sell used sea containers for $1000 to $5000 depending on size and condition. The only place I have seen them where I consider them cheap is at construction equipment auctions. Sometimes you can get them there for $400-$1000.
