Mariner's Deck License from SUNY MARITIME?

I want to go there, get my Deck License, and work on a cruise ship as a deck officer/3rd mate. Is it that easy? Easy in terms of getting the cruise job with this license.

Not to say that the school is easy, but if you graduate you should have good offers for employment. My friends son graduated from there a few years ago and got a job first in the Atlantic and then the Pacific on cargo ships. He is now the Captain of a 300 something foot oil rig supply boat in the Gulf. It is not easy but things happen if you work hard.
