What is the fare in toy train from New jalpaiguri to Darjeeling?

Want to Visit Kolkata and Darjeeling from Dhaka, Bangladesh?

  • My wife and I are looking forward to visit Kolkata and Darjeeling during mid July (We don’t know much about Darjeeling’s weather – so please enlighten us). We are residents of Dhaka, Bangladesh. And we’ll start from Uttara, Dhaka. We like to travel by train (second option bus). We want to reach Kolkata first and then visit Darjeeling. We want to stay at Kolkata for five or six hours before we leave for Darjeeling where we’ll stay for two nights and back to Kolkata and stay there for two more days. We want to enjoy the Toy Train Ride and go to Ghum and other places to visit in Darjeeling. We want to make it a safe trip and we would very much like to have a little privacy in the public transport but we don’t have big bucks to spend. Please suggest the best possible route, accommodation options, food cost, travel cost and total overall cost it may require for us to spend. We will be grateful if anyone among you help us on this. Please help us making and enjoying the first tour to abroad… Please don’t be brief or please don’t give links to website… your plain words will be more appreciated…

You get toy trains from New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Go to the Indian Railaway Website and search for trains that go from Howrah Station to NJP http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ You will get the details of Toy Train in the same website. Public Transport is not about privacy. If you want privacy, you can always hire a taxi but then your budget will have to go up. Search and book your hotel before you land in Darjeeling. July is rush season. I can't tell you much as I have forgotten the details of my Darjeeling trip. Use google to find out the details. Don't forget to buy Darjeeling tea.
