Places to see close to Delhi from Nov 3 (6 to 7 days) - keeping weather in mind?

Please suggest places to see near Delhi and activitities to do. We have 6 to 7 days to spend. 1) Is it better to drive the car or take the train when going from Delhi to Mussorie and then Nainital? - places to see and do in Mussorie and Nainital. Anything nearby that we can add to it? 2) places to see and do in Kerala - is it a good time to visit Kerala on Nov 3? 3) any other places to be seen? Thanks in advance for ur suggestions.

For a point of reference, have you already seen Agra/Taj Mahal, Fatapur Sikri, Pinjore Gardens? These are all closer than a drive or train ride to Mussoorie.
